I just joined up and am heading to Ukraine soon. I had no idea this site existed and am really appreciating the self deprecating absurd humor. Frankly I can't wait to shit myself full Peace Corps initiation style. FMFPCL

In village I passed out from heat stroke so I ate an orange for a boost of Vit C. Lucky for me I ate half of it before realizing it was filled with maggots. Now I didn't only feel like I was going to die, I felt like I was going to die shitting my pants.

was invited by my village to a "women's ceremony" in the middle of the bush... I guess female circumcision ceremonies are a good reason to have a dance party, but seeing little girls getting mutilated didn't really put me in a celebratory mood

after 13 years of being openly gay and feeling no shame about it in the states, I was surprised to see that when confronted with the question "are you gay" at a friend's dinner party I almost burst into tears. FMPCL

Went with previous volunteer from Armenia to the PCMO because he thought he had gonorrhea. I figured I should get checked while there. He just needed to bathe more. I tested positive for chlamydia. Thanks Bangkok.

My closest local friend tells me her niece will fit the clothes I am giving away and says. "Yes! She is built like you!" As she filled her cheeks with air and did the sumo wrestler pose.

I fell in the (haunted) well. Shouts for help drove the village into hiding rather than coming to my rescue. Thanks to the brave souls who came to get me out...6 hours later!
