The other night rolled over into a puddle of cat placenta on my pillow, along with 6 new born kittens and a decapitated rat hidden within my bedsheets. Good thing this is only the 9th time my cat has been pregnant.

The lady who collects our water bill smells like she lives in a sausage factory and only ever eats sausages. She also likes to get really close to me when she brings me the bill.

I was taking a piss in between train cars and saw the conductor coming my way, squeezed really hard to get it out faster and shat myself. Wiped my ass with COS papers.

Sushi 2 nights in a row? Ughh... I'd rather have the gormet open bread sandwiches from that quaint Italian bakery.

First visit home in almost 2.5 years & couldn't wait to do laundry. Instead of hours hunched over my washtub I'd be able to press a button and walk away. Instead, the washer broke in the middle of my 1st load & I had to rinse and wring my clothes by hand.

My former landlords took me up into the beautiful mountains for the day. I spent about 2 hours picking up trash in the area and deposited it neatly in bags (plastic separated) at the back of their jeep. They ignored it and drove away without it.....

At night, the rats use the top of my mosquito net like a trampoline and the strings attaching it to the ceiling like a tightrope. I try not to dream of the circus. FMPCL

The new PC doctor is pretty hot and I got a very visible erection when she was giving me my COS exam. It didn't exactly work out the way it usually does in the movies.

My service ended a year early when political violence made Peace Corps Mali have to evacuate. I feel like my PC experience is incomplete and I miss Mali, my villagers and my fellow PCVs so much, every day.

My first night with my host family, I got locked outside while taking a bucket shower and had to run around the entire neighborhood butt naked to get back inside the house.

Kept rocks at my bedroom window to throw at the 4am rooster call. Then i screened my windows to keep the mosquitoes out. Not sure which is worse...malaria or the rooster.

While eating homemade sausage at our host brother's circumcision party there was an overwhelming taste of feces that hadn't been cleaned out of the intestine that the meat was stuffed into. Let's hear it for recycling! Still brushing our teeth.
